The masseter muscle, or masseter muscle in medical jargon , is one of the most important muscles in chewing. If the chewing muscle is overdeveloped or overstressed, such as through teeth grinding, it increases in size, resulting in a wider jawline. This is often perceived as a stigma for those affected. An alle Frauen ab 50, ich (54) hab viel ausprobiert und war bei dem ein oder anderen Arzt aber nie wirklich glücklich damit, an all die Frauen die sich bewusst sind das wir nicht mehr 30 sind und es auch nicht von Vorteil ist zu versuchen so auzusehen. Ich war bis jetzt 2x hier, mein Ziel war es einige Baustellen in meinem Gesicht zu beheben, Dr. Herndlhofer sagt genau was geht und was nicht, erklärt was es dazu bedarf und wieviel Zeit es braucht, ich hatte sofort Vertrauen. Er ist kompetent freundlich genau und hält was er verspricht. Bin noch nicht fertig aber jetzt schon happy mit den ersten Ergebnissen , auch wenn ich mir bewusst bin das Dr Herndlhofer jetzt zu meiner Routine gehört alle paar Monate .  Trustindex überprüft, ob die Originalquelle der Bewertung Google ist. Perfekt auf ganzer Linie. Ich besuche seit mittlerweile knapp 2 Jahren regelmäßig die Praxis und war jedes Mal sehr zufrieden. Dr. Herndlhofer berät ehrlich und ausführlich, es wird nicht blind gemacht was (online) gebucht wurde, sondern nachgefragt welchen Effekt man gerne möchte. Mir wurde auch schon von einer Behandlung abgeraten, da ich diese nicht nötig habe. Also ein Arzt der ehrlich berät und nicht für den größtmöglichen Profit, das schätze ich sehr. Dr. Herndlhofer achtet auf sehr natürliche Ergebnisse und die Eingriffe sind schmerzarm und ohne Ausfallzeit. (Keinerlei Hämatome nach Unterspritzungen - Botox & Hyaluron) Meine heutige Ultherapy Behandlung war auch, trotz Schmerzen - lässt sich nun mal nicht komplett vermeiden, sehr angenehm, nachdem ich danach noch eine Gesichtsmassage bekam. (Was ich z.B. bei keiner Morpheus8 Behandlung in anderen Instituten bekam) Die Preise sind absolut fair und transparent. Die Praxis ist sehr schön gestaltet. Immer wieder gerne hier.

Masseter Botox: What does the treatment process look like at GoAesthetic?

Book your appointment for the treatment of the masseter with Botox against night-time teeth grinding online – simply select the treatment slot “Wrinkle treatment with Botox” in the booking system. If you are unsure, you can arrange a consultation beforehand.
Medical consultation
Now is the time: Grit your teeth. Together we will look at the development of your masseter muscle in the mirror and assess how many treatments you will need. As a rule, 1 – 2 treatments are necessary.
Preparation
The affected areas of the face are marked and the overactive muscles are marked.
Treatment
By injecting Botox into the masseter, we correct your teeth grinding and discreetly reduce the size of your chewing muscle. Afterwards you are immediately socially acceptable again.
Result
After a few days, the Botox begins to take effect and after 14 days it has reached its maximum strength. You should now wait another 2 weeks to assess a sufficient effect, as the reduction of the muscle takes time. If there is still residual muscle activity or pain in the jaw joint after one month, a repeat treatment is recommended.

Important information about Masseter Botox

The masseter muscle usually becomes larger as a result of teeth grinding. Therefore, more Botox is sometimes necessary to achieve a satisfactory result. This means that, depending on the severity, we often recommend repeated treatment every 4 weeks to relax the entire muscle. We will of course point this out to you during the consultation.

Even if treatment with Botox for teeth grinding protects you from the consequences such as tooth damage or temporomandibular joint wear, Botox for the masseter is not usually covered by health insurance.

We take sufficient time for our initial consultation. If you would like to have a Botox treatment of the chewing muscle or a Gummy Smile correction with us in Vienna, the consultation is free of charge. If you can’t decide right away, we charge a consultation fee of €200. But the good news is that we will credit €50 back to you for future treatment.

What do you need to consider with Masseter Botox?

Before treatment:

A combination with other Botox treatments, such as forehead wrinkles, frown lines or crow’s feet, is possible.
No simultaneous Jawline injections or wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid in the same area (e.g. Profhilo).
Blood-thinning medication should be discontinued. Please note: Always consult your family doctor or us beforehand.
We do not carry out treatment with Botox during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

After treatment:

Make-up and other products can be applied immediately.
No sport on the same day.
3 – 5 days break for sun worshippers (solarium) and sauna users.
No massages or cosmetic treatments on the face for the next 10 days. This means no microneedling, peeling, radio frequency needling or laser treatments.

A Botox treatment for the masseter muscle costs €350 at GoAesthetic. Important: If the muscle is particularly large or if you grind your teeth severely, a follow-up treatment may be necessary after 4 weeks; the follow-up treatment costs €295 within the first 2 months.

How long does Botox last in the masseter?

The effect of Botox in the masseter lasts for around 6 months. This is usually shorter with other Botox treatments. Repeated use can cause the muscle to shrink, so in some cases you can benefit from an effect for up to a year.

When are the results of masseter treatment with Botox visible?

As with a brow lift or the treatment of bunny lines with Botox, the effect does not start immediately, but after a few days. You will notice the maximum effect after around 2 weeks. If you have severe teeth grinding, we can then carry out another treatment to achieve a greater effect.

What is facial slimming?
