What do men need to consider when undergoing laser hair removal?

Before treatment:

  • Shave the areas to be treated 1 day in advance

  • No sunbathing or solarium 1 – 2 weeks beforehand

  • No epilating, waxing or sugaring for 3 weeks before the treatment

After treatment:

  • Avoid strenuous exercise and saunas for the first 24 hours

  • Avoid strong sunlight and tanning beds for 2-3 weeks

  • Protect the treated areas with clothing or sun cream (SPF 50)

Frequently asked questions about laser hair removal for men

Yes – the thicker and darker the hair is compared to the skin, the better the laser works. Light or fine hair responds significantly less well.

Unfortunately not. Grey, white, blonde or reddish hair does not contain enough color pigments and therefore cannot absorb the laser energy.

The decisive factor is not so much the gender, but the hair type and the area of the body: In the armpit or intimate area, 5 – 6 sessions are often enough for a good result, while 6 – 8 treatments are more likely to be necessary on the back and legs.

Yes – it works well on dark beard hair, but more than 8 treatments are usually necessary. Light or gray beard hair, on the other hand, cannot be treated effectively.
