Which treatment methods can greatly improve the appearance of acne scars

Would you like to have fewer acne scars? First of all: Unfortunately, acne scars can never be completely removed. Nowadays, however, medicine has a number of solutions at its disposal to at least soften the appearance of scars and smooth the skin.

Let’s start with a method that has been tried and tested over many years and is scientifically sound. The microneedling. Fine needles stimulate natural collagen production and skin regeneration to create a smoother and firmer skin surface.

An innovative advancement of this method is radiofrequency microneedling using Morpheus8, which additionally harnesses the benefits of radiofrequency to tighten the skin from the inside out and enhance scar reduction.

We’re also often asked about CO2 laser therapy. It can also improve acne scars, but usually involves about a week of downtime and isn’t suitable for every skin type. Ich habe mich Aufgrund von Migräne sowie Gesichtsschmerzen zu starker Mimik und meiner Zornesfalte in die Hände von Dr. Hedrich begeben. Ich hatte viele Fragen bzgl. Unverträglichkeit oder andere Reaktionen und Wirksamkeit all diese wurden verständlich erklärt und Sorgen und Ängste aus dem Weg geräumt. Fazit gegen die Migräne hilft es mir echt gut hatte 3 mal die Migräne und Gesichtsschmerz Vorboten und die Schmerzen blieben aus und meine Zornesfalte bessert sich und dass man mir nicht jeden meiner Gedanken im Gesicht ansieht mag ich sehr da ich stark ausgeprägte Mimiken habe und mich diese nicht mehr verraten. Ich kann GoAesthetik wirklich weiterempfehlen meine Entscheidung viel auch Aufgrund der Allgemein und Notarzt Ausbildung auf GoAesthetik da ich auf einiges reagiere und ich mich echt Sicher und gut aufgehoben gefühlt habe.

Ich habe mich bei Dr. Herndlhofer sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Er hat mich umfassend beraten und ist auf alle Fragen eingegangen. Auch mit dem Ergebnis bin ich super zufrieden. Treat acne scars: Important information

We take enough time for our initial consultation and plan enough time for our advice. If you would like to undergo treatment for your acne scars with us in Vienna, the consultation is free of charge. However, if you don’t decide right away, we will charge a consultation fee of €200. But the good news is that we will credit €50 back to you for every future treatment.

What do you need to consider when treating acne scars?

Before treatment:

  • Combining this treatment with others leads to better results. We’ll discuss all the options in detail during your visit.

  • Blood-thinning medication should be discontinued. Please note: Always consult your family doctor or us beforehand.

  • We do not carry out treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

After treatment:

  • No sport on the same day.

  • Depending on the treatment, sufficient sun protection should be ensured over the next few weeks. That means no planned beach vacation.

A microneedling treatment at GoAesthetic costs €225; with a treatment package, it’s €180 per session. Depending on the type of scar, we recommend a series of 3 to 8 treatments. For deeper or older scars, we use Morpheus8: A partial treatment area costs €440, and the entire face costs €690. In most cases, treating the entire face is worth it because the radiofrequency also helps refine the appearance of pores. We’ll determine which treatment is best for your scars during your medical consultation.

The most effective methods for treating acne scars include microneedling, radiofrequency microneedling and various laser treatments (e.g. CO2, Erbium-YAG). Microneedling stimulates collagen production and improves the skin’s texture, reducing fine lines on the forehead, for example.

Radiofrequency microneedling provides additional skin tightening and promotes skin renewal. Similarly, a CO2 laser can ablate the top layer of skin and reduce the appearance of imperfections. In contrast, hyaluronic acid injections smooth out sunken areas. However, the choice of the appropriate method should be decided on an individual basis and in consultation with an expert. At GoAesthetic, we rely on microneedling and Morpheus8 because both procedures are suitable for almost all skin types and involve minimal downtime. We’d be happy to consult with you in person.

Acne scars are usually permanent changes to the skin that do not disappear on their own without appropriate treatment. Very superficial scars may improve naturally, but deeper scars require professional medical treatment to smooth out their appearance. Increasing skin aging also rarely improves the appearance of scars for the better.

Depending on the type, depth, and skin condition, it’s usually not possible to completely remove acne scars—and we don’t promise that either. However, modern treatments such as microneedling or Morpheus8 can significantly improve their appearance, often to the point where the scars are barely noticeable in everyday life.
