Profhilo® Structura targets the area where a significant portion of facial aging occurs: the superficial fatty tissue. Rather than simply filling in lost volume like a traditional filler, the treatment supports regenerative processes in the tissue. This restores firmness and fullness to the face – without an artificially plumped-up look.
Profhilo® Structura is an injectable anti-aging treatment based on high-purity hyaluronic acid that was developed specifically for the superficial fatty tissue in the face. This is because fatty tissue in the face acts as a kind of natural supportive cushion. If it is lost due to aging or significant weight loss, the face can appear sunken and tired.
What makes it special: Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers, Profhilo® Structura is not intended to simply mechanically replace lost volume. Rather, the special hyaluronic acid complexes support the activity of fat cells and fat stem cells, allowing the tissue to regenerate.
This improves the quality of the superficial fat deposits, and the surrounding tissue becomes firmer. The result is what is known as the “lipolifting” effect: volume lost due to aging is restored, and the facial structure appears fresher again – without the typical contouring associated with fillers.

To this end, Profhilo® Structura can be effectively combined with collagen-stimulating treatments such as Radiesse® or Ultherapy®. This makes Profhilo® Structura part of a new generation of biostimulative anti-aging treatments that specifically harness the body’s own regenerative processes. Radiesse®, for example, follows a similar principle, primarily stimulating the body’s own collagen and elastin production.
Based on the data available to date, Profhilo® Structura is considered to be well tolerated. The manufacturing process of the hyaluronic acid contributes to this: The hyaluronic acid is obtained through biofermentation and is not chemically modified. Instead of chemical cross-linking agents, which are commonly used in traditional fillers, the high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid chains are linked into stable complexes using a patented thermal process. The result is a product that integrates evenly into the tissue.
Extensive safety data is already available for the base product Profhilo®: The first analysis of global post-marketing data (2015–2018) found a total of only 12 reported side effects among more than 40,000 treated patients; none of these were severe, and all resolved on their own within a short period of time. Profhilo® Structura, on the other hand, is still significantly newer on the market. The available data therefore include smaller patient cohorts and shorter observation periods; however, the adverse event profile has been similar to date.
The most common side effects are mild swelling or bruising. In rare cases, hardening or nodules may occur in the treated area. These are generally easy to treat and usually resolve completely within a short period of time. As with any facial injection treatment, there is also a very low risk of vascular complications. We minimize this risk by using a blunt-tipped cannula and the appropriate injection technique. An additional safety feature: Since Profhilo® Structura consists of pure hyaluronic acid, the product can be dissolved again with an enzyme (hyaluronidase) if necessary.

That depends on the treatment goal: Profhilo® primarily improves hydration and skin quality, while Profhilo® Structura specifically supports the superficial fat tissue and can therefore be beneficial in cases of age-related volume loss.
The treatment is well tolerated. Profhilo® Structura is injected into the superficial fatty tissue using a fine cannula, requiring only two injection sites. During the injection, you may feel a slight sensation of pressure or a brief tugging sensation, which may occasionally persist into the next day.
For optimal results, two treatments are recommended: the first session and a second one about one month later. The effect builds up gradually over the following weeks. To maintain the results, a follow-up treatment after about nine months is sufficient.
Many people notice a visible change after just the first treatment. The regenerative effect continues to develop over the following several weeks and typically lasts about 6 to 12 months.
No, Profhilo® Structura is specifically designed for the midface and for tightening the jawline, as that is where the superficial fat compartments are located—the areas where the product takes effect. We offer better options for the neck: Classic Profhilo® improves skin quality in that area, and for more severe skin sagging, we achieve excellent tightening results with Ultherapy® or Morpheus8 ™.
