Do you have unsightly lips or puffiness under your eyes after a hyaluronic acid injection? A Hylase treatment may be the solution. That’s because Hylase contains the body’s own enzyme, hyaluronidase, which is ideal for correcting poor results following wrinkle injections. The enzyme is also the treatment of choice for doctors to quickly address unwanted side effects.

Please note: Not all hyaluronic acid fillers dissolve equally well. Some require more treatments. For example, strong fillers used for lip augmentation usually require several treatments.

What is a Hylase treatment?

The hylase treatment is a medical treatment for the targeted dissolution of hyaluronic acid fillers. The enzyme hyaluronidase is used to break down the cross-linked hyaluronic acid molecules and thus enable the filler to break down. This treatment is used when undesirable results such as uneven volume distribution, asymmetries or excessive padding occur after a filler injection.

The desired esthetic result can be restored or adjusted through the targeted application of Hylase.

Important: However, the enzyme cannot differentiate between endogenous and exogenous hyaluronic acid, which is why sufficient specialist knowledge and a deep understanding of facial anatomy is required for the treatment to be successful.

How does the Hylase treatment at GoAesthetic in Vienna work?

Hylase treatment is carried out in several steps, which are tailored to the individual needs of each person. If necessary, an allergy test is carried out first to rule out any intolerance to hylase. The exact position of the hyaluronic acid filler is then marked and dissolved. During the subsequent injection of Hylase, we take care to remove only the desired amount of filler in order to achieve a harmonious and natural result. Experience is the key to treatment.

During the follow-up appointment about a week later, additional hylase can be injected if necessary, if old filler is still present and negatively affects the aesthetic result.

When are results visible?

Initial results are visible within a day, as the hyaluronic acid usually dissolves within a few hours. However, you should wait several days, as slight swelling may be temporarily visible after the injection. We always assess the treated area 7 days after the hyaluronic acid has dissolved and administer a small touch-up injection if necessary.

Ich habe mich Aufgrund von Migräne sowie Gesichtsschmerzen zu starker Mimik und meiner Zornesfalte in die Hände von Dr. Hedrich begeben. Ich hatte viele Fragen bzgl. Unverträglichkeit oder andere Reaktionen und Wirksamkeit all diese wurden verständlich erklärt und Sorgen und Ängste aus dem Weg geräumt. Fazit gegen die Migräne hilft es mir echt gut hatte 3 mal die Migräne und Gesichtsschmerz Vorboten und die Schmerzen blieben aus und meine Zornesfalte bessert sich und dass man mir nicht jeden meiner Gedanken im Gesicht ansieht mag ich sehr da ich stark ausgeprägte Mimiken habe und mich diese nicht mehr verraten. Ich kann GoAesthetik wirklich weiterempfehlen meine Entscheidung viel auch Aufgrund der Allgemein und Notarzt Ausbildung auf GoAesthetik da ich auf einiges reagiere und ich mich echt Sicher und gut aufgehoben gefühlt habe. What is the procedure for a Hylase treatment at GoAesthetic?

Appointment
Schedule an appointment online for a consultation or a Hylase treatment. A medical consultation costs €200 if you’re not ready to commit to treatment right away. The good news: We’ll credit €50 of that toward any future treatment.
Treatment
If there are no known cross-allergies (keyword: bee or wasp venom), we can carry out the treatment by injecting small amounts of hylase into the areas to be treated.
Control
After 1 week, we check the success of the treatment and correct it with Hylase free of charge if necessary.However, larger areas for dissolving hyaluronic acid sometimes require further appointments, which are subject to a charge (e.g. multiple lip injections with hyaluronic acid).

The cost of Hylase treatment is €450. This price includes a follow-up visit 7–14 days later, during which small amounts of the enzyme may be reinjected into the same area if necessary.

Hylase treatment at GoAesthetic in Vienna: Important information

You can discuss with Dr. Peter Herndlhofer during a personal consultation whether treatment is appropriate and how many sessions you’ll need to break down the hyaluronic acid. We’ll set aside plenty of time for this. If you’d like to undergo treatment with us in Vienna, the consultation is free of charge. However, if you’re unable to make a decision right away, we’ll charge a consultation fee of €200.

Important: The first follow-up appointment around 1 week after treatment is free of charge. If necessary, we will inject small amounts of Hylase free of charge at this time.

What do you need to bear in mind during Hylase treatment?

Before treatment:

No proven bee or wasp allergy.This is because cross-allergies can occur.
We do not carry out treatment with Hylase during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
No acute infection in the treated area (e.g. fever blisters)

After treatment:

No alcohol or caffeinated drinks for 24 hours
No sport on the day of treatment
No cosmetic treatments, massages or any manipulation of the treated area for a few days
Avoid intense heat (e.g. sunbathing, sauna, etc.) for 14 days

Can hylase help after a failed hyaluronic acid treatment?

Yes, in any case.Whether incorrectly injected or an undesirable side effect, Hylase can reverse the result.The most common areas where we use Hylase are under the eyes and the lips.Especially after the removal of dark circles with hyaluronic acid, swelling can occur if the wrong hyaluronic acid filler is selected and the injection technique is poor.You should therefore always choose a doctor with sufficient experience.

How much does a Hylase treatment cost?

The Hylase treatment costs €450 and includes an allergy test if required and a follow-up appointment one week after the treatment.If necessary, Hylase can be injected again free of charge.

How quickly does Hylase dissolve hyaluronic acid?

Hylase usually dissolves hyaluronic acid within a few hours.The enzyme is not expected to have any effect after 48 hours at the latest.

Can hyaluronic acid be pressed out?

If you want to remove hyaluronic acid after an injection, you should dissolve it using hylase.Swelling, lumps or similar cannot be treated after a hyaluronic acid injection by “pushing it out”.
